Under Sullivan’s leadership, Guitar Center’s technology merchandising division strategically expanded its category portfolio, re-imagined the in-store interactive merchandising experience, and co-designed its highly-successful promotional marketing program.
Sullivan joined Guitar Center Corporation in 2003, most recently serving as Vice President of Merchandising, overseeing the live sound, recording, keyboard, DJ, consumer electronics and software business divisions across all channels and properties, including Guitar Center Stores, Musicians’ Friend, and as well as Guitar Center’s B2B division of Professional Audio and Visual Design Install resellers. In his new role, Sullivan will lead inMusic’s dynamic team during a time of exploding growth across the enterprise’s growing roster of 16 companies that spans categories ranging from keyboards, electronic percussion, DJ hardware and software, recording hardware and software, live performance loudspeakers/studio monitors/headphones, amplifiers/media players/signal distribution, lighting and consumer electronics. Sullivan joins inMusic from Guitar Center Corporation and brings significant experience in merchandising music technology brands.
However, this plus a 2 channel mixer I had already are just fine and I would recommend it to anyone that's want's to mix tunes off their computer.GUITAR CENTER EXECUTIVE TO LEAD INMUSIC INTO THE FUTUREĬUMBERLAND, RI USA (January 24, 2019)- InMusic, a global leader in music technology, music production, software and consumer electronics brands, today announced the appointment of Patrick Sullivan as President reporting directly to CEO Jack O’Donnell. Maybe that's why the vestax's are so much. Personally, I couldn't imagine using it or any controller that doesn't use analog eq's and faders or lacks the option to route each deck to an analog source. I can't compare to other controllers as this is the only one I've used. I never intended to take this out to gigs, so for me it works well. That's precisely what I did and I just use the control to mix. Luckily, the omni control has 2 outputs and the option to route each deck to an output and then to an analogue mixer. Also, using software to manipulate faders and eq is crap in comparison to an analog mixer. So far I'm impressed and find it's very easy to use. I was mixing vinyl tunes off my turntable too. That said, traktor and the omni control were very easy to use. Also, I've been out of the dj'ing game for a while. This was my first time using anything but vinyl to mix. After some quick configuration I was up and playing tracks. Aside from that, the tsi from Numark's website worked perfectly with the omni control and fired up right away on my macbook running 10.5.6. The Omni control shipped with a copy of Traktor Le, but I had a hell of time trying to activate it so I had to "download" a copy of Traktor 3. They're a little small and cramped, but the pitch sliders are nice and while the platters don't have much resistance, they work quite well.
Out of the box the construction seems solid and all the knobs and sliders seem nice as well.
The pitch slider on the xponent was extremely easy to move. I've searched for reviews of this dj midi controller for a while but haven't found anything that's great so, here's mine for anyone that's interested.Īs a prequel, I demo'd the torq xponent and the soundcardless version of this at guitar center and other than they much larger platters, I can't see why the xponent was so much more expensive.
